With almost every Indian city experiencing voltage fluctuations, we advise consumers to purchase and install a voltage stabilizer with every AC. Let us see how to connect the voltage stabilizer for AC.
Get your apparatus in order.
Get your AC installed by a qualified technician. Now, you can proceed with connecting a stabilizer for your AC. Keep the following items ready on hand.
- The voltage stabilizer machine with the installation instruction manual
- Use the screws provided with the voltage stabilizer
- Drill machine
- Screwdriver
- Hammer
- Insulation tape
The AC stabilizer installation process – Step-by-step
- Measure the AC lead wire and set the stabilizer level accordingly. Please do not attach additional wires to those provided by the AC supplier. You can determine the stabilizer level on the wall according to the AC wire length.
- Mark the locations where you require drilling holes to fix the voltage stabilizer to the wall.
- Use the drill machine and drill holes in the wall at the marked locations.
- Hammer the screw holders into the drilled holes. It helps to grip the screws better. Plastic screw holders are available at hardware stores. Otherwise, you can hammer wooden stumps inside the holes to grip the screws tightly in place.
- Install the screws using the hammer and screwdriver.
- Mount the voltage stabilizer carefully on the wall. Please note that the stabilizer is heavy equipment. Therefore, you must have robust screws to hold the stabilizer in place.
- Connect the AC’s wires to the stabilizer. Please ensure that the red wire goes into the red socket and the black wire into the black port. Incorrect wiring can result in a short circuit.
- Connect the voltage stabilizer unit to the electrical source.
- Switch on the AC. Wait for the time delay facility to function. It can be tempting to bypass this function and switch on the power supply to the AC immediately. But we advise you not to do so. It will take a little time, but waiting for half a minute can considerably extend your AC’s lifespan.
You have installed your AC voltage stabilizer successfully. Use it to protect your AC from damage.
